Course Outline
By the end of this course, participants will have the following knowledge:
- Understand the basic Diving Physics and Physiology
- Human Bodily System Interactions in Diving
- Management of Underwater Diving Injuries
- Manage topside Emergency Life-threatening Conditions
- Manage topside non-life-threatening conditions
- Deal with Conscious and Unconscious Divers
- Have a deeper understanding of Pressure-Related Illnesses
- Diving-Related Medical/Dental Conditions
- Marine Life-Inflicted Injuries and first aid management
Course Contents
Participants will learn how to manage Diving related injuries using Patient Assessment Modules.
Conduct Divers Neurological Assessments on conscious and unconscious divers.
To be proficient in Emergency Oxygen Providing and integrating it to Basic Life Support.
What are the benefits?
Participants will be able to acquire the following Skills sets:
- Deploy Emergency Diving First Aid Medical Equipment
- Emergency Oxygen Providing (EO2P)
- Perform Quality Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (QCPR)
- Use Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
- Provide effective First Aid for Diving related injuries
Entry Requirements
ESS Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 5 or above (GCE N/O Level pass or equivalent). Course materials, instructions and assessments will be conducted in English.

Learners of this course are advised to have at least ES WPLN Level 5 & above or equivalent as otherwise, the learners may find the course challenging to understand and pass the required assessments.

Diving First Aid Certification (Valid for two years)
