Overview

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation

Our training programme adheres to the most up-to-date medical and educational guidelines published by nationally recognised authorities. They also meet the OSHA training requirement for workplace responders. “Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the known leading causes of death in occupational settings. In today’s context, AED’s are found onboard planes, cruise ships, hotels, factories and many workplaces. AEd is a ‘must have’ according to a standard HSE regulations. 

About this Course

Our CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillation) course is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to respond effectively in emergencies involving cardiac arrest. It aims to train individuals and company personnel who require training in basic life support and automated external defibrillation (AED). 

It will provide the necessary skills to manage a patient who is unconscious and not breathing until the arrival of the emergency services.

This course meets the guidelines of the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) in Singapore

Course Objectives

Understanding Cardiac Arrest 

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of cardiac arrest
  • Differentiate between cardiac arrest and heart attack 

CPR Technique

  • Perform high-quality chest compressions
  • Provide effective rescue breaths
  • Understnad the importance of the CAB (Compressions, Airway, Breathing) sequence
  • Learn the variations of CPR for adults, children and, infants. 

Using an AED

  • Understand the function and importance of an AED
  • Learn how to operate and AED safely
  • Follow the AED prompts for defibrillation

Chain of Survival

  • Understand the concept and importance of the chain of survival
  • Recognise the critical steps to improve survival rates, including early recognition, immediate CPR, rapid defibrillation, effective advanced care, and post-cardiac arrest care

This course is suitable for a wide range of individuals, including healthcare professionals, workplace first responders, teachers, coaches, and general public. 

Learning Style

Each section of the book will guide you step by step through each of the essential skills required to be a competent first aider. Through the process of seeing, hearing and doing, you will develop the skills, knowledge, techniques and confidence to respond in an emergency both safely and effectively.

None

Assessment and Certification

Candidates will be assessed through practical skills assessment with oral questions. Upon successful completion, candidates will be awarded a certificate issued by Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) in Singapore and valid for 2 years from date of completion.
