The Recreational Diver Medic Technician Course is tailored for individuals interested in gaining expertise in providing medical assistance in recreational diving scenarios. It encompasses essential knowledge and practical skills required to respond effectively to dive-related emergencies while they are in remote dive sites.
· Understand dive-related medical conditions and emergencies
· Gain proficiency in administering (Diving) first aid and emergency care in diving contexts
· Develop skills to assess and manage dive-related injuries and illnesses, conducting diver neurological assessments on site.
· Learn communication and coordination techniques for effective emergency response during diving activities
· Identify and respond confidently to common dive-related medical emergencies
· Perform basic dive-related medical assessments and interventions
· Coordinate emergency responses efficiently within recreational diving settings and onshore diving physicians
· Apply appropriate first-aid techniques and Level 2 medical procedures to manage dive-related injuries and illnesses.
28 hours of E-Learning courseware and 24 contact hours for practical hands-on session
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
· Participant must hold prior certification as a recreational diver (e.g. Open Water Diver or equivalent) and possess a valid CPR and first aid certification.
· For participants who do not have a valid CPR ,Emergency O2 providing and first Aid certification could sign up for the elearning modules for EO2P, DFA or OFAC/SFA with KBA Training before you they can register for the Recreational Diver Medic Technician course.
