Course Training Duration: 5 days (32hrs excluding 1 day of assessment)

Mode of Training: Full-Time

It is intended for personnel who have held the Industrial Rope Access technician level two qualification for a minimum of 12 months and have at least 1000 on-rope hours logged as a level 2, and wish to proceed to level three. A level three supervisor must be capable of complete responsibility for work projects, undertaking advanced rescues and have a comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and industry best practice.

Course Objective

To be a professional and certified IRATA rope access technician, with the ability to work in any difficult to access or work at height situation.

Benefits For Learners

Upon successful completion of the course, the experienced rope access technician who is responsible for understanding and implementing the rope access procedures, method statements and associated risk assessments, will be:

 

  • Able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required of Levels 1 and 2; 
  • Able to understand the elements and principles of IRATA International’s safe system of work;
  • Conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation; 
  • Able to possess an extensive knowledge of advanced rope access rigging and rescue techniques; 
  • Able to gain an appropriate and current first-aid certificate.

Trainee Ratio

The instructor-to-trainee ratio is 1:6.

Who Should Attend?

Current Level 2 rope access technicians who aspire to be supervisors must have a minimum of 1000 hours logged working hours with varied experience as a Level 2 rope access technician over a minimum period of 12 months.

Note: Candidate must apply for re-validation or upgrade before the expiry date of his/her current IRATA certificate.

Assessments and Certification

The course is assessed by an independent IRATA approved assessor. It includes a short written/objective multiple-choice paper and practical scenarios. Delegates who have attended and successfully completed both the practical & written assessments will be awarded an IRATA Level 1 certificate, IRATA logbook and ID card. Note: Upon enrolment, delegate will receive e-copies of TACS, ICOP, IRATA Safety Bulletins, IRATA Topic Sheets and physical copy of KBAT’s Training Manual.

FUNDING - Applicable for Singaporeans only

SkillsFuture Credit. All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses.
