About This Course
The Recreational Diver Medic Technician (RDMT) Level 1 Course is designed for individuals seeking to acquire specialised knowledge and practical skills in providing medical support within the recreational diving environment. The course equips participants skills to respond effectively to dive-related medical emergencies, particularly in remote dive locations. Our training team are professional paramedics, accredited by the International Marine Contractors Association as Diver Medic Trainers, with over 20 years experience in hyperbaric and humanitarian medical emergencies.
Learning Objectives
- Understand common dive-related medical conditions and emergencies
- Demonstrate proficiency in administering first aid and emergency care specific to diving scenarios
- Conduct on-site neurological assessments and manage dive-related injuries and illnesses
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with emergency response teams and diving medical professionals
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
Recognise and respond confidently to a range of dive-related medical emergencies
Perform basic dive-specific medical assessments and interventions
- Co-ordinate emergency response efforts efficiently within recreational diving settings and liaise with onshore diving physicians
- Apply appropriate first-aid techniques and medical procedures to manage injuries and illnesses related to diving.
Entry Requirements
- Participant must hold prior certification as a recreational diver (e.g. Open Water Diver or equivalent) and possess a valid CPR and Emergency First Responder certification.
- Participants who do not have a valid CPR ,Emergency Oxygen Provider, and First Aid certification are required to complete the relevant E-Learning modules for EO2P, DFA or OFAC/FAWW through KBA Training prior to registering for the for the Recreational Diver Medic Technician course.

28 hours of E-Learning plus 24 Hours (3 days) for practical hands-on session including case scenarios involving commercial dive sites and decompression chamber
